The prestigious school managed and run by the northern railways Oak Grove School organized its 134th Annual Athletics Meet. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Manoj Kumar, Chief Personal Officer, (Administration), Northern Railway, inaugurated the function by unfurling the school flag in the valley ground and took the salute of the march past. 
Speaking on the occasion the Chief Guest said that along with education, sports are also important as they help in developing the overall personality of the students. He said that while playing any game, sportsman ship spirit should be kept in mind. Manoj Kumar further said that sports have different place in a student’s life as they develop self-confidence and physical abilities.
The Chief Guest congratulated the students on excelling in the fields of academics and sports at the regional and national levels. He further added that Northern Railway was keen on supporting the school to make it a premier institution in the country with all modern amenities and infrastructure.
The Annual Athletics meet was inaugurated, by running on the ground with Olympic torch by two outstanding sportspersons of the school, Master Rohan Kumar and Anjali Yadav along with Anand Singh Rawat an Ex-Oakgrovian. The meet started with a well-coordinated March Past by the students of the three wings of the school. The School Captains, Anurag Anand(Boys’ School) and Shubanghi Singh(Captain girls’ School),Aditya Singh (Boys’ Captain Junior School) and Vasundhara Kumari (Girls’ Captain Junior School) led the march past proudly by holding the school flag.
In the hurdle race Pallavi Kumari and Kumkum Kumari won the Gold medal in Senior and Inters division. In Javelin through Anjali Yadav bagged Gold in the Inters and Shreya Rani in the senior division.
The most prestigious trophy Cock Shield was won by Takshila House of Junior school while in Boys’ and Girls section it was won by Patel and Meerabai Houses respectively. In 1600-meter race (Senior division) Gulshan, Ritambhara Bharti won the Gold medal while Anshuman Yadav and Gagan won the Silver and Bronze medals respectively. In discuss throw (Senior division) Gold, medals were won by Shreya Rani , and Anurag Anand while Silver and Bronze medals were begged by Kartik Singh Katehria and Abhiraj respectively . Sneha won the Gold medal in the Inters division.
Shri Naresh Kumar, Principal, Oak Grove School thanked the Chief Guest and other dignitaries present in the school valley. He appreciated the spirit of the sportsman ship exhibited by the students and said that sports and academics go side by side in the development of a student’s personality and inspired the youngsters to work hard both in academics and sports and further stated that winning and losing are part of the game and everyone should jointly celebrate the victory of sports. Naresh Kumar further added that this year near about hundred Athletes participated in the annual sports day to make the event successful.
