TonsBridge School, Dehradun was declared the overall Winner of the Cultural Fest “Capta Caelum – Reach for the Sky  2024”.

The band event ‘Riveting Rhapsodies’ was won by Welham Boys’ School, Dehradun while Bishop Cotton School, Shimla stood as runner up. Kakuli Banerjee of  Ram Centennial School, Dehradun, Innamma Rizvi of Mussoorie Public School, Mussoorie and Abhinavjeet Singh of Yadavindra Public School, Patiala were declared the Promising performers of this event. Tibetan Children’s Village School, Dehradun was declared the winner in the Ensamble – Headgear and dress designing event while St. Jude’s School, Dehradun stood as runner up. The theme for this year was “Forest Fantasy- Endangered species”. A number of schools designed their headgear and dress on the theme showcasing the cause and urgent need to save the species. Jiya Singh of Welham Girls School, Dehradun and parth gaba of  St. George’s College, Mussoorie were declared the Promising performers of this event.

Wynberg-Allen School, Mussoorie hosted the Inter School Cultural Festival ‘Capta Caelum – Reach for the sky 2024’. Participants from different schools from the country competed in a number of events organized during a day-long festival. The chief guest on the occasion was Ms. Rudraksshi, famous Bollywood actress, singer and dancer (Balika Vadhu on Colours channel).

The other guest of Honours for the events were Ms Aisarya Bisht-Miss India Uttarakhand 2022. Ms. Subhi Pradhan- Regional Manager Southern Cross University’s South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. Mr. Ajay Mark-former HOD sports Woodstock School, Mussoorie, Mr. Jason Fransis – Operational Trainer for Arriva Rail LTD, United Kingdon, Ms Arshleen Kaur-Faculty of Art, Dehradun, Reverend Lazarus Cornelius and Mrs. Nupur Kaintura- Programming head of Radio Khushi 90.4 FM.

Samridhi Singh, the school captain for the girls welcomed the participants on behalf of the host school. She also introduced the chief guest to the audience. The various events organised as part of the cultural festival this year included Drama Rama – an acting competition, Riveting Rhapsodies -a band event, Rap, Ensemble -Headgear Designing & Dress, 3 D Canvas Painting, Modelling, Frame It Up- Photography, Cut To The Chase – Videography, Clueminati -Scavenger Hunt and Jazz It Up– a dance competition. The events were organised and managed by the students of the host school. As per the custom, Wynberg-Allen being the host school does not compete for individual positions or for the overall trophy.

Jazz It Up, a dance event on the theme ‘Freestyle choreography on retro remixes’ was enjoyed by the audience. This year the students of Brainz Edu World School, Meerut performed exceptionally well and were declared the winner and Welham Boys’ School, Dehradun was declared as the runners up.  Gargi Saraswat of The TonsBridge School, Dehradun, Shreya of Mussoorie International School and Samarth Bansal of Bishop Cotton School, Shimla were declared the Promising performers of the event. 

In the Drama-Rama event, Tibetan Children’s Village School, Dehradun lifted the Trophy. Tula’s International School, Dehradun won the photography event. 

In 3D Canvas painting event, the students of Tula’s International School, Dehradun lifted the trophy.

The TonsBridge School was declared as the winner of the modelling event while Tula’s International School, Dehradun was declared as the runner up. Rishika Singh of Vantage Hall Girls’ Residential School, Dehradun and Etrika Goel of Mussoorie International School were declared the Promising performers of this event. 

In the Cut to the chase- Videography event the students of St. George’s College, Mussoorie did exceptionally well and lifted the trophy.

 Ms. Rudraksshi, the Guest of Honour on the occasion presented the trophies and Mementos to the winners along with the other invited guests. Mr Anil Choudhary, the event coordinator in his briefing to the press said that around four hundred students from eighteen schools from the country competed in ten different events scheduled in the inter-school festival this year. Principal Wynberg – Allen school Mr. L. Tindale congratulated all the winners and thanked the participants for their enthusiastic performances.
