Mussoorie International School (MIS), a prestigious institution known for its excellence in education and holistic development, celebrated its 40th anniversary with a series of events that were a testament to the school’s legacy of academic excellence and cultural enrichment.
Since its establishment, the school has been dedicated to nurturing young minds, fostering leadership, and instilling values. The school has proudly produced numerous accomplished individuals who have made significant contributions in various fields globally. The much awaited MIS@40 event began with the school’s traditional hawan with staff, students and parents reciting the mantras. The environment became even more blissful with the members of the gayatri pariwar from shanti kunj also joining the MIstars.
After the hawan, honourable Mr. Shantanu Prakash inaugurated the School Exhibition which was a perfect display of the skills MIstars develop within and beyond the classroom. Each classroom spoke volumes about the efforts of the students and staff in bringing alive different subjects through charts, models and activities or tasks done by students. MIS@40 through the lenses of the exhibition was remarkable which left everyone speechless including the guests. The exhibition also featured photographs, memorabilia, and a timeline highlighting the school’s progress and achievements. It was definitely a unique opportunity for alumni and the local community to take a walk down memory lane.
Being the memorable year, the school also organized the Pagal Gymkhana, which was a hub of activities, yummy food and some mind boggling games, not to forget the tarot card reader. The school believes in connecting and collaborating which was surely evident as the smiling faces couldn’t stop applauding and sharing their ideas and vision for MIS ahead. It was interesting to see the school interact club and others also raising fund in-house through candles, tote bags, jewelry, book marks and so much more.
The most enthralling part was the School Production “Mamma Mia” – A Musical Extravaganza which was a major highlight of the 40th-anniversary celebrations will. This vibrant and energetic musical performance was a culmination of months of hard work, talent, and creativity. In her address to the guests, the Head of School said that MIS is a culture and believes in empowering the girls to become the leaders of tomorrow. The Chief Guest for the event was IPS Officer Ms. Ridhim Aggarwal who is presently working as the Additional Secretary Home in the Uttarakhand police. Her words were inspiring for all girls and guests as she laid emphasis on the varied aspects of education, empowerment, character building and also urged people to support in the anti-drug campaign. The day ended with the performance by the Primary school- Jhansi Ki Rani. It was amazing to see the young ones take on the stage so confidently. It was surely an eventful evening, wherein the guests and parents left all excited for Day 2 of the celebrations. The music captured the air with the school band and the dialogues of Mama Mia left everyone amazed to the highest extent. Seeing the abundance of talent, one can say that MIS is paving the way for future women leaders.
