Mussoorie, 1st October 2025 – Mussoorie Public School, in association with Welham Boys’ School, Dehradun, celebrated its 59th Founders’ Day with grandeur and enthusiasm at the school auditorium. The occasion brought together distinguished guests, parents, alumni, and well-wishers to witness a day dedicated to showcasing the talent, creativity, and achievements of its students.
The Chief Guest for the celebration was Lt General (Dr) VK Ahluwalia, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, VSM (Retd.), who received a warm welcome from the Principal, Mr. Vishal Singh, staff, and students. The Guests of Honour were Mr. Sumit Marwah and Mr. Virendra Girsa. The event was further graced by eminent dignitaries including Ms. Indie Prakash, Mr. Jot Singh Gunsola (Ex-MLA, Mussoorie), and Mr. Manoranjan Tripathi (Retd.), whose presence added distinction to the occasion.
The day began with the ceremonial lamp lighting, followed by a soulful prayer by the Principal and the hymn “Mansion Over the Hilltop.” Students presented a variety of cultural performances, including a Pre-Primary Mickey and Minnie Dance, the heartwarming English Play Sleeping Beauty, and a vibrant Dance Fusion on Uttarakhand. The school band delivered a spirited performance, while the grand production “Dashavatar: Evolution through the Eyes of Science and Spirituality” captivated the audience.
A highlight of the celebration was the Art and Craft Exhibition, inaugurated by Guest of Honour Mr. Virendra Singh Girsa. The exhibition beautifully showcased the creativity and innovation of the students, earning widespread appreciation.
The day also recognized exceptional achievements across academics, sports, and co-curricular activities. The Academic Perseverance Award went to Vibha Nemani, and Tapasvi was honoured as the Most Promising Player of the Year 2025. Literary achievements were celebrated with Nabiya Ansari receiving the English Literary Award and Anshika Panwar awarded the Hindi Literary Award.
Academic toppers from Nursery to Grade XII were felicitated on stage. Yash Hisaria received a cash prize of Rs. 5000 and a Certificate of Merit from the school management. ISC toppers included Harshit Verma (Science), Vanshika (Commerce), and Jerusha Phillip (Humanities), each receiving a Certificate Souvenir from the Muplican Alumni Society. ICSE Science Topper Sanskar Kumar was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 3000 and a Certificate of Merit from the school management, in addition to Rs. 5100 from the Muplicans for scoring a perfect 100 in History. Sarthak Verma was also awarded for topping the Commerce Stream.
The Students of the Year 2025 award went to Samridhi Negi and Prerna Tamta, sponsored by Mr. & Mrs. Arun Prasad. Hardik Marwah was recognized as the Best Stage Artist, and Vaishnavi Rawat was honoured as the Most Helpful Student of the Year. The Principal’s Commendation Award was conferred upon Tanmay Verma for his exemplary dedication and contribution to school life.
House competitions highlighted team excellence, with Jwala House being declared as the Cock House for 2025 and Surya House recognized as the Best Academic House 2025.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest commended the students for their discipline, creativity, and commitment, urging them to continue striving for excellence in all spheres of life.
The programme concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by the Head Boy, followed by the School Song and the National Anthem.
