MUSSOORIE
Wynberg-Allen School, Mussoorie hosted the “130th Annual Inter-house Athletics Meet 2021”. The guest of honour on the occasion was Mr. Suresh Khatri, an alumnus from mid-70’s. The meet started with the impressive march past by four different houses on the marching tunes played by the Wynberg-Allen Marching Band. The torch bearers for this year’s meet was Aakriti Subedi and Siddharth Gusain.
Himanshi Bhatia and Arya Sethi, the school captain for the Girls and boys took the oath on behalf of participating athletes. The meet was declared open by the chief guest after the march past.
A number of new records were created in the meet. The following athletes were declared individual champions in their respective divisions: Veronica john and Tanmay in the sub- junior divisions,
JIgmet Dorjee of Foy house and Riddhima Jaiswal of Powell house in the junior divisions,
Sheen Yunas of Condon house and Shlok Agarwal of Allen house in the Intermediate divisions,
Aakriti Subedi of Foy house and Siddharth Gussain of Condon house in the Senior Division.
The march past cake was awarded to the Condon House. The best turn out cake was awarded to the Powell house. The winner for the Tug-O-War (Boys) was Allen House. Powell house girls proved their might by winning the girls Tug-O-War. Allen house and the Foy house were declared the overall Relay winners from Wynberg and Allen respectively. Tyson Chhetri and Aakriti Subedi were declared the fastest sprinters of the meet for the boys and for the girls respectively.
The Elizabeth Davenport trophy for the Best Athlete (Girls) went to Aakriti Subedi of the Foy House. Siddharth Gussain of Condon house was awarded with the Mike Harrison Trophy for the Best Athlete among Boys. From junior Wynberg, Allen house and from senior Allen school Condon house was declared the overall champion in the meet. Mr. Khatri awarded the certificates and trophies to the winners. Principal Mr. L. Tindale congratulated all the winners and thanked all the officials, especially the physical education department for successfully conducting the meet.
